Description of patricia's work
Patricia Piccininis’s “The Young Family” is a really special artwork. She made the pig connect to human. The main materials for this work are polyethylene, leather and some hair. These materials are a bit strange when people saw them at first time. Those materials let the “mother” looks like a human being. She has arms, legs and face. However, there are snout, pigtail, and long ears on her which are very unusual. These special connections can create people’s imagination about the relationship between them. Furthermore, the facial expression which shown by the materials is sad, tired and hopeless. Normally, just people have facial expression, so once aging we need to think about the meaning of this artwork. Let’s think about how human’s activities relate to animals.
